If you have completed one of our Postive Parenting courses and would like to become more involved we welcome you to join our volunteers to assist the facilitator/s during courses and at workshops, a great way to expand and refresh your skills.  Please call the office 020 8673 3444 or email us.

Training for trainers.

We offer an intensive 5 session training programme to people who want to further their own parenting skills and/or are interested in adding our skills to their existing professional repertoire. You may already be involved in work with families for which this training would provide a valuable contribution. No previous experience of our work is required to take this training although if you have already taken one of our courses this will offer you the opportunity to deepen your understanding and skills. This is a certified course satisfactory completion of which will be by attendance, short written assignments and an optional practical presentation.

Trainees will deepen and broaden their understanding of the skills and strategies taught on our Positive Parenting Core Skills Course and will also be trained in facilitation skills. This involves learning about:

• Group dynamics
• Presentation skills
• Managing participants’ expectations
• Managing time
• Facilitating each participant’s learning – being aware of different learning styles and responding to them accordingly.

Becoming a Licencee.

Licences to deliver The Parent Practice programmes are available for those who are interested in running parenting programmes upon successful completion of the Training for Trainers Programme. Licences are subject to some geographical limitations to ensure that licensees are able to practice in a viable business area with no other licenses being granted for the same area. Licensees are unable to trade as 'The Parent Practice' but trade under their own names. They are licensed to teach The Parent Practice methodology and to use The Parent Practce materials. We provide licencees with facilitator's notes and all supporting materials for the classes as well as notes which accompany the classes for the participants. The licence arrangements offer different levels, as required, of ongoing business, admin and training support. We offer promotional help including recommendations via our website.
