Training and certification in the delivery of parenting courses is a key part of what we do. We’ve been training many of the UK’s parenting professionals, teachers, counsellors and therapists since 2008. This ensures that the expert knowledge held within The Parent Practice is passed on to help more parents and families. No previous experience of our programmes is required to take the training.
Professionals who complete the Training for Trainers Courses receive a certificate at the end of the course and may be eligible to become a Parent Practice Licensee.
The Training for Trainers Programme is delivered by Melissa Hood, Head of Training and Design, and is offered over 6 weeks (one class per week, 9:30am-3pm). A class size is usually between 6 and 10 people.
This training is also available to parents who’ve taken a course with us and want to take their skills and understanding to a more advanced level, whether for the benefit of their own families or to use professionally.
Watch Milly Ayliffe's (attendee Sept 2019) review for the course:

Licences to deliver The Parent Practice programmes may be available for trainers who are interested in running parenting programmes.
Licences relate to a specific geographical territory so licensees are able to practice within a defined area. Licensees do not trade as 'The Parent Practice' but trade under their own business name. Licensees may teach The Parent Practice methodology and may use The Parent Practice materials. Facilitators Notes, Parents' Notes and Supporting Materials are included with the Licence. Upon the successful completion of the Training for Trainers programmes and purchase of a licence, licensees may designate themselves ‘Parent Practice Certified Educators.’
The Parent Practice recommends licensees via our website.
We have licensees all over the world. View Here
About our Licensees:
Carol from Worthing about our licensee Camilla Miller:
Camilla and her course were recommended by a colleague at work... I have learnt that my daughter's behaviour was a reaction to how she was being treated, and all the emotions behind it. With Camilla's experience and guidance I learnt how to be connected with my daughter and encourage her in a positive way. Within two weeks I noticed the changes and how good she was responding to all techniques learnt. I am so delighted to see my daughter shining and willing to help without being asked to. Our course lasted five weeks, which went so quick and I could not be more grateful to Camilla for her help.

Yesterday I delivered week 2 of the course and I wanted to thank you - I am just loving it!!! You get true feedback from parents each week and they all attest to the fact that it really works. One father who started off a bit sceptical the first week said last night that "descriptive praise works like magic". Another dad who came for the first time yesterday (under duress) said "I learnt more in the first 45 minutes than I have in 13 years of being a parent".

I just wanted to also say how much I have enjoyed the training with you over the past 5 weeks. Thank you so much for making us all feel so welcome, valued, cared for and for educating us so well with enthusiasm, humour, different teaching techniques and a very human touch. I knew I was going to get a great course when I signed up for this, I just didn't realise how great. Everyone who has asked me how my course is going has received the answer 'brilliant - it's so great, I'm enjoying it so much'. Thank you too for all the hard work you put into preparing it and the feedback you give us. I have no doubt I will be poring over the comments in much detail when preparing my own courses.

I'd like to thank you most sincerely from the bottom of my heart for such a well crafted and organised course, that has taught me so much. It has served to deepen my fascination with the vital subject of parenting and has really got me thinking about all the issues on a whole new level, as well as giving me concrete ways to develop my communication and facilitation skills. I was very inspired by your excellent role modelling of everything that you were teaching us, and by your warmth and genuine care for everyone on the course. I am looking forward to building on everything that I have learnt and taking my new knowledge and skills forward
